Sunday 26th October with high winds forecast and the Forth Bridge 10K already cancelled when I awoke this morning I was wondering if it was going to be worthwhile making the trip to St Andrew for the race.
I travelled via Glenrothes and picked up another Glenrothes Tri club member Maureen Hill. We arrived at the Uni sports centre in plenty time. Registered, set the bikes up and did a warm up.
The race started on time and I recorded 25:05 for the 5k run, into T1 and on the bike for a 21K ride out into the countryside. The wind was horrendous and at times it was hard to control the bike. 57:57 for 21K and onto run 2 2.5K 13:59.
There was 6 members of the club there and as we gathered for a team pic the results were announced and the team picked up 1st veteran male as well as 2nd female super vet Maureen and I picked up 3rd supervet.
Quite a good day for the club!!
A good race but my legs were still feeling last weeks marathon and the second run was hard work.
